EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Worked as part of highly trained team contracting for Intel.  In charge of the QA/QC for the entire branch; Intel in Rio Rancho and Chandler AZ with gross revenue of over 14 million dollars per year. Worked with installations with very tight               milestones that had to be met. Created and designed check lists and log sheets to monitor the quality of the installation as it               progressed.  I received 100% approval rating for quality compliance from co-contractor during my time as QA/QC for this               project.

As QA/QC for the Central Office Equipment Installation contracting for Quest, I implemented a program to maintain compliance with RBOC specs. 77350 and others.  Led a team of five field auditors across 13 states of Qwest’s region.                Designed an extensive spreadsheet for monitoring state-by-state audit completions and quality scores.  Used a database for               tracking audit information.  Developed reports utilizing tables, Pareto charts, and corrective action logs to show the steady               progress of improvement.  Improved quality rating 70% from 21 of 22 contractors to 7 of 28 contractors in less that one year.                Achieved preferred contractor status in many states.

Project Management

Managed multiple projects consisting of teams made up of 3 crew leads and 75 technicians for the installation of data centers, central office equipment, DC power, ironwork infrastructure assembly, and various types of structured cable installations.                Oversaw project budgets of up to $2 million dollars.  Implemented proven project management skills to manage time, budget               and human and financial resources.  Conducted regular phase gate meetings to assure project milestones were being met and               critical paths were identified.  Achieved strong team support and performance through a solid process, clear communication               and direction, required equipment, and reinforced training.  Performed within the requirements of the job estimate to               continually complete installations under hours, and at or below budget and forecast. Maintain excellent customer               communications and completed project documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.

Engineering and Estimating

Responsible for the outside plant, re-hab and kick-out engineering of the St. Francis Woods district in San Francisco.  This $13 million project used new design work for conduit layouts, manholes, and cable configuration and service boxes.                Networked with city officials and utilities to obtain permits for trenching and right-of-ways.  Co-engineered outside plant               designs for conduit placement. Drafted riser and backboard diagrams for cabling to RFP specifications.  Performed estimating               and field engineering for structured cabling, and assisted CO engineers with field engineering.

Training

Designed a mock ‘Central Office’ training facility for up to 12 students using current equipment.  Students perform wire wrapping, installed ironwork, bays and equipment installation, and all types of cabling, connectors and labeling.  Other               support tasks taught were fire stopping, safety, power and grounding, and general project management.  Developed all course               curriculum and provided instruction. Designed and taught a Central Office Field Auditor training course to prepare               technicians and new auditors to inspect the quality of customer installations.  This resulted in improved quality, reduced travel               and warranty costs, and increased efficiency and profitability.
